[Noisebridge-discuss] DIY electronics type store in SF?

Al Lasher's is where I've bought vacuum tubes for my really tube stereo amplifier. Cool place.

I wish there were a nice store that sold parts for DIY electronics. If there are, I don't know of any. There's Weird Stuff, and Halted and Haltek, but you need a car to get to these far flung places (if they even still exist -- I haven't been to them in over 10 years).

Jameco is the closest to a place that sells parts, but they're in Belmont. They have will call, which is free to use, and no minimum order -- so you could actually order 1 resistor from they're website (or phone) and pick if up for 2ยข. Of course, you need a car to do that. But Jameco does mail order, too, and they're shipping isn't too expensive. And you could easily receive a solder iron tip for your solder iron from them before the 16th.
