Hi!

Yes, the mailing list is one good place to try to find expertise.  It 
seems to me that noisebridge has a lot more people familiar with atmel 
parts (and the open-source development toolchain), but there may be some 
PIC people around somewhere.

But stopping by is always encouraged.  Check the schedule on 
http://noisebridge.net/ to see when there's stuff that might interest you, 
or people are around most of the time.
