FWIW to clarify: I *don't* know building codes at all (other than
plain common sense), nor was I at all involved in building the current
setup, so I feel I am not qualified to make any comment about whether
we *are* or not. I'm only asking for the reasons I gave.

IIRC we have some people however who are or have been professional
electricians / plumbers / contractors, or who've dealt with this
before, who'd probably be much more qualified to answer this.

Re. contacting SFFD as a group - I hope aestetix doesn't mean that in
the event of an emergency we should wait until the next Tuesday
meeting to call, only that we should do so for things that aren't
time-sensitive?
