[Noisebridge-discuss] Removed busted AP

Today I decided to track down some wireless problems, after I noticed
that there were two APs broadcasting the "noisebridge" SSID.

One of them is the Ruckus. It is configured to bridge its 802.11
interface to the wired network.

The other was an WRT router as follows:
 * connected to an omni antenna above the electronics desk upstairs
 * originally part of a "ping reliability test" that Jof and I had set
up a month or so ago

We didn't announce the test or label the gear involved, though, which
was (in retrospect) pretty stupid.

Apparently somebody decided to improve the world by changing the
configuration on the WRT to announce the "noisebridge" SSID and NAT from
192.168/16 on 802.11 to the 172.30.0/24 wired network.

Having two APs announcing the same SSID without cooperating on handoffs
is, um, not a route to success. So I've powered off the WRT and moved
the Ruckus away from its floating ground plane (aka "the big stack of
shelves"). Hopefully this will improve the situation somewhat. I'll
also label things so that it's more obvious which parts are essential
infrastructure, and which ones are random test gear.
