[Noisebridge-discuss] hacker conference nov 6-8th?

I will be going to The Hackers Conference. I was surprised that I had never heard of it before, since this is the 25th one! It is not for profit. But it is (obviously) low-key. I met one of the organizers randomly at a music performance at ATA, and he said the original organizers made it low key after CBS went to one of their early conferences and vilified hackers in their story. I think the climate in the mainstream media are opening way up for us now, but the tradition of low-key lives on.

Anyway, I'm way looking forward to checking out The Hacker Conference after I get back from China. I'll be doing a workshop (showing people how to make cool things with microcontrollers -- of course!), giving a Show & Tell, and probably giving a talk, or two.

Mitch.

oh, yes, hackerZ my bads :P

Yah the fee is covers food and lodging. i doubt it's run for profit. still, the cost can be a barrier for some so scholarships are also considered.

I asked when i dropped by Noisebridge and heard some folks might be going -- i thought i should hit this list and see. by the way, I'm impressed with NB. i'd be a regular if I was in the Bay Area more --and I hope to drop by again if I can travel thru SF on my way. so there ya go.

SO, if you do know someone please forward my request on? Much Appreciated. Thanks.

Cheers,

And which costs something like $1200, if memory serves.
I only personally know one person who goes and it didn't come up. I
wouldn't be surprised though.

Hello.

Anyone headed from SF to the hacker conference near San Cruz, Nov 6-8th??

I'll be flying from PDX to SFO (rather than direct to SJC) and looking
for a ride, have $ for gas down on Friday back on Sunday. Unless folks
are headed by train, but maybe we can travel together anyway?

I'm pretty flexible on travel times, and wont be carrying much. email
or call.
