   Today at 2169 a guy brought a small circu‎it he'd
created and software he wrote that shows one's pulse
on the oscilloscope activity on the XO laptop.
his circuit is simple: an infrared transceiver
that shines light on a surface (a finger) and detects
the reflected light, sending a diff to an op amp that
amplifies the signal and sends it as a line out audio
signal through a mini-phone jack that connects to the
line-in input on the XO computer. (the thing he
showed us was built on a $2.00 miniature breadboard.)
the software processes the signal and presents it,
oscilloscope style, to the o'scope activity.
he said he'd send a schematic, BOM, source code,
and maybe some references, which i'll share after i
get it.
