i'm interested in the noisebridge library and have
two related proposals.
1: have two dead-tree libraries, one with valued
(hard to find, useful information...) items, the other
with whatever else.
agree to take care of the valued stuff, maybe can't
go off premises or must be checked out or something.
agree that the other stuff is "hackable": take it, rip
it apart, do whatever you like with it.
2: last year an engineer died and his sister had to
deal with all his stuff, including lots of "computer
books", maybe 1000 (and aeronautical engineering books
and more). she asked LUGs if anyone wanted the computer
books. i said "yes" and now have about thirty boxes in
the garage (and will drive down to san luis obispo to
get the remaining ten boxes).
i'm betting there are from five to twenty classic,
hard to find, horse's mouth books in the collection and
another 100 or so worth having.
i promised her i'd find a home for the good ones and
take the rest to the landfill.
i think the noisebridge library is a good place for
the best of the batch and probably some of the others.
i'd like help sorting them and culling the good ones
for the NB library. if you're interested, please let me
know.
