[Noisebridge-discuss] maybe we just need walls so people can concentrate

If I want to be in a private space so I can concentrate, I stay in my
apartment. Just sayin...

Also, does the cost/benefit really make sense? Putting up a wall is a shit
ton of work, and would throw the main part of the space into construction
zone / nearly unusable / way more distracting than a couple of couch
sleepers status for a couple of months at least. So, is it really worth it??

A major issue seems to be that everybody is bothered by everybody else.
maybe we just need some sheetrock walls, like the classrooms already are
walled off, so that people can concentrate.
wall off each of the following:
* the media area for people using the multimedia stuff
* wall off the circuit hacker area for people using that stuff
* wall off the sewing area for those people
* wall off the library area for the quiet types.

I observed this at hacker dojo earlier, where every damn area they could
think of is walled off.
at hacker dojo, there could be several people in another room that have
been there for several days.
you'd never know because there's so many little private spaces.
and not knowing who's there prevents distractions and stupid disputes
about each other's noise or use of the space.

What's everybody think about this?
