I second this statement, and it is my primary concern as well. I tried to
get it across in my original post, but maybe it wasn't as clear and awesome
as this. I'm all over the idea of allowing awesome teachers to make awesome
cash while teaching, thus I also agree that the proposing an amount on the
wiki and getting donations to host the class is a good way to go...we use
that for all kinds of construction projects already, and it seems to work
out quite nicely.

One other random, and slightly tangential question: It appears that people
are saying indirectly that if teachers are paid and students have to pay the
class is better. Do people seriously believe this is true? Mitch turned me
into an electronics nerd from a kick ass soldering class (and a NB regular),
and M. Shiloh now has me well on the way to become an Arduino freak. I think
these are 2 examples of stellar teachers and a motivated student (me)
getting a ton out of a free class.
