[Noisebridge-discuss] SF Elementary Math Circle

I really like this idea. I do project-based math education research
at UC Berkeley, but I was not previously familiar with this
organization. So thanks for the exposure!

In any case, we generally have events with fairly free and open access
as well. We have no rule against closed events which charge, but we
also have only one rule (Be excellent). Do you feel that there is a
solid justification for the event being closed? If you would like to
continue pursuing this, I recommend checking out this page on the
wiki: https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Hosting_an_Event

Have you tried the Exploratorium? They have an Open:Make activity
this Saturday that is preceded by a closed workshop for young makers.
Their learning lab there would probably be supportive of your
activity, and since they clearly already partner with other
organizations (in this case, Maker Faire) I don't see why they
wouldn't be amenable to hosting your group.

There's already an SF Math Circle for grade 6 and up, but elementary schoolkids aren't provided for. That said, the organizers recommended Irina Lazarevsky as someone who has led groups of this age before. Irina's agreed to run a group for us. I have a bunch of families ready and willing to sign up, but no venue.
