[Noisebridge-discuss] can anyone help me repair a Asus EEE netbook this weekend?

Ah, well, folks, it turns out the new Asus EEE 1215n PCs have a known
problem; the power connector (barrel plug) is so small (0.7mm diameter)
it tends to snap off. Le sigh.

We managed to desolder the connector last weekend; if anyone has suggestions
on how to rig up something more durable, I'm all ears.

I think it would be way cool to salvage an Apple-style magnetic power
connector and jury-rig it on there. Commercial vendors can't do it
because it's patented, I think. That would make this experience worth
it :-)
