I super wish that this software had been installed on the computers that 
were taken.  If it had been, we could be tracking those computers now.

Something to think about though is, if your computer is locked by a 
password, it will probably greatly reduce the amount of time that the 
computer spends connected to the internet, so you can track it, and also 
probably increase the chances that your hard drive will be wiped with a 
reinstall.  I don't have a password on my computer (although I don't have 
any of my login passwords saved by my browser).

I definitely intend to install either Prey or something homebrew on my 
computer, so I can track it if it goes missing.  At least an IP address 
right?  That would be good enough to get started.  Especially if the thief 
didn't realize they were being tracked.

The other thing is, assuming Prey can activate the camera, you should 
consider disabling the LED next to your camera if you want to do this.
