[Noisebridge-discuss] no actual theftiness and not from the donation bins

I was also thinking another possible solution is to utilize a tagging system
such as RFID to tag devices in the space that are intended not to leave
Noisebridge. This would be done in conjunction with sensors placed at / near the
entrance that loudly/silently alarm/records when one of those items are removed
from the space.

Obviously knowledgeable folks will be able to defeat this system but it might
stop folks that are taking (borrowing?) tools hastily without much forethought.

Some other thoughts... A silent alarm that records the occurrence could be used
to determine if items are being removed from the space in groups and when. It
could help inform future discussions.

A camera could be rigged up to snap a photo when the alarm is triggered. This
camera doesn't have to be digital or internet connected. Polaroid anyone?

Also obviously some folks might remove tags and plant them on friends / enemies
as a joke / attack which could result in hilarity / unrest.

Thoughts?
