[Noisebridge-discuss] Two working surveillance cameras, but no functional doorbell?

I'm not taking advantage of your computerized access system because it's currently in flux, and because no students have complained to me that they can't get in, yet.

Not sure what you mean by a "class-shared code." I'd like to keep my class open to everyone, meaning newcomers can join in at any time - if I shared a code with existing students, it would be excluding a significant fraction of my class every time.

I could share this code over email, the wiki, and Google+, but that might be too open for anyone's liking, since anyone can use the code. But maybe it's still "obscure" enough?

Even then, I'd prefer that people could just come in without much resistance at a specific time. People hearing about this class through friends or other less direct means won't have the means to get into the space, and an open period would solve that problem. Certainly, the critical mass around Monday evening would warrant that sort of temporary openness.

For the record, even I don't have a code, despite my being at the space, without fail, every Monday and Thursday. I've always been able to either ring in, follow someone in, or use the now-passcode-protected Noisegate web app.

One of the things Danny is working on is a code adder/deleter that will allow for creation of expiring codes, although I would say that anyone attending a class is relatively trustworthy enough to have a class-shared code until they get their own.

Also, solve the problem that most people don't belong in a hackerspace because they don't know how to use the equipment, or have any goals relating to hacking, and thus end up contributing a lot more entropy to the space than anything else.
