That is a great suggestion. I'm eagerly awaiting my reasonably priced
thermal IR camera<http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mu-thermal-camera-a-great-tool-to-save-on-energy-costs>from
Mu Optics. It might be a while, but you could borrow it when it gets
here (assuming it does) .
