I've been ignoring this thread and will go back to doing so, but I
accidentally read this one and the first line jumped out at me.  Adrian,
you just said "you're not being polite waah".  That's not a useful
addition to a discussion of feminism.  Rachel's attitude is laudable and
entirely reasonable if you've been paying *any* *attention* *at* *all*
to the experiences of feminist women in the last decade, the last year,
the last month, the last week.

If you're skeptical, find a local ally who can help you bridge your
knowledge gap before you continue to attempt to engage people like
Rachel who are doing the hard work.  Doing otherwise makes you look like
a troll.

I'd be willing to talk to you about it in person next time we're in the
same city (if you want to take me up on this offer, email privately
under a diferent subject so I don't accidentally delete it as part of
this thread.)
