"Is the sky always falling at NB?"
Johny Radio: Seems that way!

DG: What's all this about the community being in shambles?"
JR: Have you been there recently? Hacker Alley is an endless cycle of
utter disaster which occassionally gets cleaned up, only to devolve
again. The kitchen is an eco-hazard. Place infested with cockroaches,
flies, mice, junkies, thieves, and hangers-on. Broken/missing tools
and equipment.

DG: Closing the place down completely seems a bit extreme.
JR: The suggestion was a reset for a couple weeks, which I support--
but without any core changes, a reset will accomplish nothing.

DG: I'm guessing this is just part of the constant petty drama and neurosis that
plagues any public space?
JR: Thievery, intravenous drug use, eco-hazards, broken tools, and
drunken louts are more than "petty drama and neurosis ". Lots of
public spaces do not suffer from such issues, like the library i'm in
right now.
