[Noisebridge-discuss] What does "transparency" look like to everyone?

One of the issues we are currently wrestling with in regards to creation of
working groups, etc, is transparency.  everyone has a different idea of how
they respond best to information streams.  some people like email
notifications or mailing lists, some people prefer chat or irc channels,
some people prefer in person meetings, and most people don't do all of
these things together.  community population communication styles are
currently a venn diagram where the circles don't really overlap. no one
likes the surprise of a group of people having made a decision that you
might have wanted input on or participation in, but were not able to
because your preferred communication channels did not align with anyone
else's.  obviously i won't be hitting the people who don't do mailing lists
with this email, but i will repeat this poll in person at the next meeting.

0.  How do you prefer to find out when the community makes a change that
you want to be involved in?  Why do you prefer this way?

1.  How do you prefer to find out when the community makes a change you
want to know about, but don't want or have to be involved in?  Why do you
prefer this way?

2. How do you prefer to message to the community when you are organizing a
project, process or other community event or change?  Why do you prefer
this way?

3. How do you prefer individuals to contact you in regards to community
info/changes/events/etc?  Why do you prefer this way?

4.  What does "transparency" mean to you? What does it look like in action?
 What do you see as the benefits of this execution of transparency?

My intent in this is datagathering.  We can cast about in the darkness with
ideas and try solutions we come up with til something sticks, but without a
reasonable idea of what people desire in their dear, rusty little hearts,
we both as community members and as People Who Give Fucks will be much less
able to hit the mark, at all and in a timely manner.
