If you want to make other languages happen on the Noisebridge wiki, while being non-disruptive to the usability of the site, I'd be way into it.  You'll need to coordinate with Jeffrey and others, assuming they're also into it.

Praveen -- using Noisebridge for meetups is way cool, as long as it is about why Noisebridge exists, which is hacking:  art, craft, tech, science, making things, fixing things, workshops and classes as related to the above, politics and society as related to the above.

Yes, it is a good use of time.  Getting the initial translation will provide for a template, and it is easier to update over time.  It will encourage more spanish speakers at the space, and that in turn will help with maintenance. 
I may be starting work with immigrant students at city college soon, and I'd like to use noisebridge for a meet ups. 
I /really/ don't like machine translation  a) it's shitty for anything more than a sentence.  b) a human touch is just better!

If you have a separate Spanish front page, what happens if someone edits the English one? Then you have out-of-date information.



That, or you’re asking for someone to translate all of their edits.



I think a better approach would be to make sure the copy on the pages you’re interested in internationalizing still read well when sent through an online translator. Unless you have some sort of deep-seated resentment against Google’s free services, I don’t see why Google Translate is such a bad idea for a page with non-colloquial English phrasing.
